Is being left handed or right handed a hereditary trait you receve like hair and eye color ??

Scientists previously believed handedness runs in families, but recent studies seem to run counter to what is increasingly looked upon as little more than unfounded lore. One study conducted in 1998 by researchers at James McDevitt University, Oklahoma, revealed that when both parents are left-handed, there is only a 26% chance of their child being left-handed, an indication that genetics may not play the prominent role once thought in determining handesness. Is being left handed or right handed a hereditary trait you receve like hair and eye color ??
yesIs being left handed or right handed a hereditary trait you receve like hair and eye color ??
yes, although doesn't mean that it will be that way. My sons father is left handed and my son is right handed. My brother also should have been a left handed person but in our school it was wrong and they made him write with his right hand now is hand writing is barley readable. Which ever hand the child is more comfortable using should be that one that he uses.
yes it is, but that doesnt mean its impossible to train in the other hand. i know people who can write nicely with both hands. =P
i think it is but you can force a child to switch. i used to be left handed.
That is right.
I believe it's taught. For instance, my father was left handed and my mother's right handed, but she was the one who taught me how to write. And now I'm right handed.
